Peru earned their second straight win in YOG

The first set was characterized by mistakes of both the teams, especially in serves and receptions. The actions were unpredictable but at the other hand gave some lucky points for both of the teams.


Perus setter, Alexandra Munos, used a lot her two centrals, gave the opportunity to Daniela Brenda Huribe the best scorer of the match with 14 points.

The second set Japan surprised Peru by scoring 6 points in a row, and Peru couldn’t answer because lack of reception. The coach Natalia Magala called two time outs, and until 9-11 Peru seemed to have lost it. It was thanks to the killing spikes of Vivian Baella that they kept pace with their opponents and at the end won with a big success.

Topscorer in Peru Brenda Daniella Uribe scored 14 points in the match against Japan .
Japan couldn’t hold it any more, even the captain Anna Fukami whose blocks and spikes best scorer of her team, and so Peru easily won this third and last set.



Peru tomorrow will play the semi-final 1 against the second place of Pool B thanks to the leadership of their pool with 4 points (they won all the two matches with 3-0), and Japan the semi-final 2 against the winner of Pool B.
