In the first set, Peru led 10-7, but Belgium came back and scored five consecutive points and nine of the next ten points. Peru struggled to spike the ball past Belgium’s Laurine Klinkenberg and Laura Heyrman.
Peru started off the second set strong as well, leading 7-3, but Belgium came back and tied the score at eight. Peru rebounded and played good team defense, and scored five-straight points two times. However, they allowed Belgium to score five points while they remained stuck with 24 points.
Belgium finally started a set well in the third set, scoring the first four points.

The fourth and final set was the closest one. Peru led for most of the set, but Belgium claimed the lead for the first time at 20-19 and held on for the win.
Belgium’s record improved to 2-1, while Peru’s record fell to 2-1.
Belgium will compete in the girls’ final on Thursday at 9:00 against the winner of USA-Japan. Peru will play on Wednesday at 15:30 against the loser of USA-Japan for third place.
